Dear K12 Education Community:

Welcome back to school! The National Student Clearinghouse will celebrate our 25th anniversary as your trusted partner in 2018. We’re getting a head start on the celebration by filling the coming academic year with new events, reports, services, and much more for the K12 education community, including:

  • Events & on-demand learning opportunities
  • Supporting ESSA reporting requirements
  • 2017 High School Benchmarks Report
  • Linking K12 to higher education
  • New Customer Care department
  • Share your best practices

Events & On-Demand Learning Opportunities

We’ve unveiled a full year’s worth of events on our events calendar. You can start planning now to meet Clearinghouse reps and subject matter experts at upcoming industry conferences, including NCAN’s national conference on September 11-13 in San Diego and NCAC’s national conference on September 14-16 in Boston, and our live webinars. More events will be added during the year, so make sure you bookmark our events calendar.

In addition to our event opportunities, we regularly expand the on-demand learning available via the Clearinghouse Academy. Tutorials are available for our StudentTracker for High Schools service and Transcript Center. You’ll also find practitioner webinars, such as our case study with the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency in Iowa, on how they used StudentTracker to better understand student college and career readiness and how it relates to remediation.

Supporting Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Reporting Requirements

The Clearinghouse stands with the secondary education community, including through our relationships with more than 40 state agencies, and is uniquely positioned to support your ESSA college and career readiness reporting requirements. Our StudentTracker for High Schools service not only effectively and seamlessly provides postsecondary enrollment and completion outcomes for public in-state institutions, it also helps you obtain the information you need for hard to reach private and out-of-state institutions.

2017 High School Benchmarks Report

I’m very excited to share that this October, we will release our fifth annual High Schools Benchmarks Report. The report, created by the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, provides high school-to-college transition rates for public high school graduates, including college access, persistence, and completion outcome.

Data are drawn from the Clearinghouse’s StudentTracker for High Schools service, and are presented for students from different types of high schools, such as low versus higher income and low versus high minority. The report covers public and private high schools from all 50 states and most of the 100 largest districts in the U.S. as well as more than 25 percent of all public high school graduates, or nearly five million graduates.

Schools that participate in our StudentTracker for High Schools service can use our report to compare their graduates’ college transition rates to national benchmarks, including those for schools serving low income and minority students. (You can register now for our November 30 webinar, “Comparing Your School to the Clearinghouse High School Benchmark Report.”)

Linking K12 to Higher Education

The Clearinghouse works directly with state education agencies in Tennessee and Wyoming on state-funded K-20 transcript initiatives. Our Transcript Center provides a solution that electronically moves transcripts between secondary and postsecondary institutions and provides an easy-to-use ordering platform, electronic delivery of transcripts in both document (PDF) and data (XML and EDI) formats, and secure offsite facility print delivery. In addition, we offer Electronic Transcript Exchange as a single school or district solution to submit electronic transcripts via PDF.

For more information about our Transcript Center and Electronic Transcript Exchange, visit our K-20 Transcripts page and read more on our Tennessee and Wyoming solutions.

New Customer Care Department

The Clearinghouse has combined four of our client-facing teams – Implementations, Customer Service, Client Support and Client Management – to create our new Customer Care Department. The team will focus on serving you better and improving how we respond, listen, and care for our clients and customers.
